First Year Knock Visit: 20th October 2025- Pics

First year students travelled to Knock today marking the beginning of their exciting religious journey through secondary school as a year group in Cnoc Mhuire.
The students attended a mass celebrated by Fr. Simon in The Apparition Chapel, lots participated in the mass with readings, gifts, prayers of the faithful and some fabulous music So
Students were then free to go and explore the religious site, till their holy water bottles to bring home to parents and grandparents and even browse through souvenir shops before heading home. Thank you to the first year tutors and teachers who accompanied them on their trip, with a special thanks to the amazing 6th year mentors who joined us.

T. F. Meagher Awards- Pics

REcently Sr Maeve Brady and Daniel Safrik accompanied by his mother, Jana were guests at Dáil Éireann to mark the Thomas F. Meagher foundation awards. At Leinster House they enjoyed a
delicious lunch and were accompanied by local Longford Councillor, Uruemu Adejinmi. Also present were the Ambassadors of Estonia and Croatia, and a fellow award winner for poetry from Dundalk.
Daniel was presented with a plaque as he won best video entry last year along with Sophie Devine, and Leah Simpson.

ReLove Fashion National Final 2025- Pics

Anna, Klaudia & Lena travelled to Dublin on Wednesday 30th April with their Art teacher Ms Igoe, from Cnoc Mhuire.

Students also go to meet some of the judges including Laura de Barra, bestselling author of Garment Goddess, and Lorraine Keane, broadcaster and founder of Fashion Relief as well as Carla McGoey from Longford County Council.

The team proudly represented Cnoc Mhuire Longford in the finals of the Relove Fashion Competition, a national sustainable fashion initiative for secondary school students across Ireland.

Their stunning, Arctic-inspired outfit celebrates the beauty of flowers that bloom in even the harshest conditions.

Using materials sourced from a local charity shop and repurposed items from home, the students embraced sustainability through creative reuse, including upcycling, repairs, and alterations.

The garment was carefully crafted using a paper pattern, hand-basted with a running stitch, and finished on a sewing machine. To top it off, the team crocheted flowers from leftover art class wool and added them to the design, creating a one-of-a-kind piece.

Well done again Anna, Lena & Klaudia for showcasing talent, creativity, and a passion for sustainability!

Shannonside Radio Interview- Pics

Daithí Mcloughlin, 3.1, is a very active member of Comhairle na Nóg and was interviewed today on Shannoside Radio to inform listeners of the sterling work they are involved in.
He will be attending a Refurbishment Showcase in Dublin on the 7th of May next.
