Current 6th Year Mentors

At Cnoc Mhuire, we are committed to ensuring that our first-year students receive all the support they need as they settle into secondary school life. One of the key ways we do this is by pairing them with our Leaving Cert students, who mentor and guide them in the first few days.

The 6th yrs volunteer to take on this important role and undergo training with Longford Youth Services. The mentors help them throughout the year. A central part of this support system is a Circle Time where small groups of first years meet with their mentors to discuss any concerns, challenges, or worries they may have. Over light refreshments, the senior students offer guidance, share advice, and help find solutions, creating a warm and supportive environment for everyone involved. The 6th yrs receive certificates on Graduation Day.
