The Student Voice

Elections are carried out in September / October to replace outgoing members. A chairperson and secretary is then elected. Student representatives on the Student Voice report back to their class groups. In 2023 they introduced a school jacket that could be worn in class. In the recent past, they have met with the Inspectorate and with Minister Simon Harris. Two students make a presentation to the staff annually outlining their work and objectives for the year. They also make a presentation to the Board of Management at the end of the school year outlining their work. Student Voice participates in Comhairle na Nóg and at Ceist Gathering and at other events that arise.

They are also tasked with looking at policy documents and to bring forward issues from the student body. This year, the Student Voice members are working on the Bi Cineálta policy document from a student perspective. They are also considering a standardised PE uniform and proposing to introduce it in the next school year. They are organising a fundraiser (colour run) for next term. Currently they are discussing the logistics of organising it and which beneficiary will be awarded the proceeds. Ms Beatty and Ms Sands coordinate the Student Voice.
