Welcome to Our School

Welcome to Cnoc Mhuire Secondary School. We are a voluntary, co-educational secondary school in Granard, Co. Longford. Our vision is to create an excellent learning environment where children can achieve full potential in their academic, creative, personal, physical, moral and spiritual development. Cnoc Mhuire was established in 1947 by the Sisters of Mercy and initially was a girls’ boarding school until 1987. In 1959, Cnoc Mhuire received its’ first intake of male students and became co-educational. Since 2006, our Trustees are Ceist- Catholic Education, an Irish Schools Trust. We are committed to creating a learning environment which encompasses the holistic development of our pupils. Cnoc Mhuire has a proud tradition of fostering an extensive range of extra-curricular and co-curricular activities. We hope our website provides you with a sample of all the work and activities that students and teachers participate in. Pauline McBrien, Principal
