Our School
Welcome to Our School
Welcome to Cnoc Mhuire Secondary School, a voluntary co-educational Catholic school in the heart of Granard, Co. Longford. It is both an honour and a privilege to lead a CEIST school with such a proud tradition of excellence, care, and community.
Founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1947 and now under the trusteeship of CEIST, our school is rooted in a strong ethos of respect, inclusion, and care. At Cnoc Mhuire, we are committed to creating a safe learning environment where each student is supported to thrive.
Guided by CEIST values, we aim to nurture students academically, spiritually, and socially, encouraging them to grow in confidence, develop their unique gifts, and use their talents to benefit their community. Grounded in a Christian ethos, we uphold the dignity of every student, embrace diversity, and promote a culture of integrity, preparing our young people to contribute positively to both school and society.
Learning at Cnoc Mhuire is not confined to the classroom. We offer a vibrant range of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities—from sports, music to art, to gaming, coding and chess—so every student can discover and grow their talents and engage in their interests.
Our vision is to nurture confident, curious, and respectful young people who contribute positively to both school and society. I am privileged to work alongside a dedicated and talented staff who place students at the heart of all they do. We greatly value the collaboration of students, parents, teachers, and the wider community in shaping a supportive and inclusive school culture.
I hope this website gives you a glimpse into life here at Cnoc Mhuire! Should you wish to visit or learn more, please contact us directly; our dedicated team is here to support you and answer your questions.
